1. Database
A database is created containing all the codes and descriptions required to bill the model.
We have a full Master SMM7, Cost Plan, CESSM3 and Highways structure.
We are able to populate the database using your NBS or design specification.
-
2. Import database into CAD software
The database is imported into our CAD system
-
3. Attach codes and program measurement instructions
Each element has a set of codes attached to it. For example; a screed measuring the m2 of the floor area, or a linear m instruction measuring the length of partitions. Each element can contain as many codes as necessary to measure the required items
-
3. Attach codes and program measurement instructions
For this footing the codes and instructions will measure the m3 of concrete, m of formwork, blinding, m3 excavation and disposal, earthwork support and working space allowance, reinforcement if required etc. Each element can contain as many codes as necessary to measure the required items
-
3. Attach codes and program measurement instructions
We model in sufficient detail to get accurate quantities out of each element. Everything can be measured directly from a single 3d CAD model.
-
4. 3d zones
The model is zoned up using 3d zones. This tool measures all the floor finishes (including skirting), ceiling finishes, wall finishes etc. If the the floor finish changed for one room type; you could simply change the code in this tool and it would updated them all.
-
5. The quantities are exported from the 3d model into our estimating software
Because there is a direct link between our estimating software and our CAD software we can update either at anytime.
If the quantities change we can re-upload them, if the database changes we can download it again.
-
6. Quantities are available for review in our estimating software
In this example cost plan quantities are uploaded into the estimating software. The database already has a unit price against each item that we entered previously. Once the quantities are uploaded a final price is automatically generated. If the quantites change and are re-uploaded the final cost will update too reflecting the changes.
-
7. Output of quantities
We can output the quantities in an excel spreadsheet or in CITE format for direct import into your software
